Spring Is Here

I am kind of excited because today, for the first time really, I noticed how drastically all the greenery has come alive in the area. I was picking up and dropping off today and I came upon the crest of a large hill in the area. I looked down upon our little town and I noticed the rolling hills, the distance structures, the valleys filled with cattle, and the scattered houses; all in a sea of green. It was nice.

I also accomplished a silly goal of mine today. I ran to the new Braum's in town, bought something from there and then ran back home. All in all, it was probably 3 to 4 miles round trip... I'm exhausted. Plus, I really need some new running shoes. The current ones are blown out.

This week's Flickr Photographer is Ego Martini. To be a fan of Ego Martini's work like I am is to study Depth. He has many many fantastic pictures that jump off the screen and show you what they want you to to see or hide what is just out of touch. Just Great. I hope you enjoy this week's photos!!! He is from Sweden which I don't think is fair... everyone in Sweden has a leg up when it comes to taking photos and being creative.

New Vistas

Some religious thoughts on Sunday...

Our preacher is going through a series on Identity Theft, where we find our Identity and what that means for who we are. Some key questions there... Who are you? Is anyone or anything giving or dictating your Identity?

Secondly, I like to challenge myself with comparative religion studies, but I lack in the fact that I have not read the original sources. I am going to challenge myself to read, the Catholic parts of the Bible, the Koran, and the Book of Mormon.

I have read the Bible all the way through twice now and am always awed at all aspects of it. So I challenge anyone who has not read through the Bible to try, and if you are not a believer or are interested in knowing more a good place to start is in the Book of Matthew. When you do though get a good translation that is easy to read and understand... don't try and hack through the King James Version... that is difficult and tiring.

In other news I discovered that I like Riesling!!!

A little Scary

I am always a little scared when using the internet for "official" things. I guess it comes partially from growing up when the internet was new and not that reliable, and the fact that I use one of my neighbors internet sources; they don't have their wireless router password protected.... :(

Anywho, I was filling out and paying for some very "official" things today and long story short... it didn't work. I don't know if it was them or me but the fact that I am writing my blog not 10 mins after it happened makes me think it was their bad. I am still nervous though because monies were involved.

Also, I realized that today is the last day I will probably get to sleep in, until summer. That's not very good, but good for other reasons at the same time. Sleep is for the Weak.

A note to my friends I saw last night: I had a fantastic time!!! Good seeing everyone!!! I still want my concert though.

I totally the entire piece of cake!!!

I find it interesting how even when you have an entire day to rest and relax, and get caught up on things that need to be done; I always am still running out of time. Even more so, than when I have a full day on my plate... odd.

I found it cool yesterday that my friend Josh referred a friend of his to talk to me about film camera equipment. I don't know all that much about the subject, especially antique cameras, but I think our little chat helped him in a way.

The thing I am gearing up for today is a best 2 out of 3 sets with my littlest brother in Tennis. He is very quick, athletic, and consistent. I am bigger, stronger, and slower (out of Tennis shape). It should be a good match!

I am thinking of writing a short story or book about a dystopia. The ideas are coming faster and faster. I'll let you know how it goes.

Movie Review: The Covenant. Don't watch it. It is stupid. 2 stars at best. Witches with Teen problems and a mystery to solve.

Applied!!!

Today is an exciting day. A busy day. A good day.

I applied today to a boy's coach/speech and health teacher for Rival Town ISD. I really hope this works out. It would be good because it is a little town that is not too far away, but is close to a few bigger towns. It would kind of be a downgrade in location but an upgrade in finances and satisfaction levels.

I actually was very close to going to college in this town but skipped out on the idea because of the long boring drive to and from my house.

Even though I always get my hopes up I don't mind this time because I could use a little uplifting today, even if it ends up not working out.

Happy Easter/Pirates Killed!!!

Happy Easter Everyone.

A good thought from today's service... That Easter is a reminder of what happened long ago, but we should focus on what that means to us today, and not on the event. That is why Easter is not as popular as Christmas. Christmas is a celebration of a single event, a birth; that's it. Everyone can agree that a man named Jesus was born... That's not hard. The difficult thing is deciding if you believe or not if He was who He said He was or not.
Easter forces a decision. Either it is nothing or it is everything.
No one sits on the bench on Easter, and we don't celebrate rabbits that lay eggs.

Other good news today is the fact that the sea Captain that was held hostage by pirates was saved after Navy Seal snipers took out the captors. They deserved it, and although I would be OK with them in jail, they were the ones playing with fire (aka The US NAVY) and they got burned (aka TRIPLE KILL).

In other news: A group of us went camping. It was fun.

The Week That Never Ends

(to music)
Never ending Week...
Woah Woh Woah Woh Woah Woh...
I like for things to be complete...
Woah Woh Woah Woh Woah Woh...
You're Never Complete Cause you Never End...
Woah Woh Woah Woh Woah Woh...
Therefore I don't like you...
Woah Woh Woah Woh Woah Woh...
And you're adopted/no one likes you...

Seriously. Seriously. What have I brought upon myself. On Thursday I will have closed at Target 10 days in a row. I am subbing all this week. I am planning a mini camping trip, and I am trying to get my paperwork completed for my teaching certification!!!

(Yells at the Top of His Lungs for and Extended Period of Time)

I feel better. Although I have had this stuck in my head all week... :/

FLICKR MEMBER OF THE WEEK: Lainmoon. I like Lainmoon's work because it is amazing the beauty of destroyed and broken. I have always said that everything can make a good picture, it is just a matter of finding it.... Lainmoon finds it.

I am one smooth operator

So yesterday I really didn't have much to say, but I got to say that work provided me enough material for a while.

A.) Some People are idiots.
B.) Of those people some are a breed called the "Super Idiots"

I dealt with the later. Here is the story in short sentences...

I get called to the front. Front needs help with price issue. I look at price in question (with grouchy lady). I tell front what I saw. They explain in simple terms to lady that she had already received what she was asking for. I leave. She yells at me from across the store to come back, rudely. I come back. She says we are all wrong and ask for a manager. Manager arrives. We explain situation. He agrees. He explains in simple terms to the lady that she had already received what she was asking for. She says we are all wrong and that we have caused her to be late for work. Storms out vowing never to return in favor of Wal-mart.

Wal-mart can have her. LOL Why would you risk your job security over a 2 dollar coupon for some TGIF Appetizer snacks? If we were wrong and she was short changed, it is almost not worth the gas to complain, let alone making yourself late for a job in todays economy.

Priorities + Super Idiots = Caos

Three Dots (...)

I was struck at how odd people took to my extreme sarcasm yesterday at work. I said something a little rude to someone at work who I feel comfortable joking with. I made the mistake of doing it in front of people who did not understand our humor. They thought I was such a jerk. I guess I am. Some people need to loosen up... ALOT.

I guess what I am looking forward to is next week. Seeing old Friends and camping should be great!!! It just can't get here fast enough.

I guess if you are reading this you can tell it is a slow news day.

This happened a mile from my house!!!

Yesterday Sounded Like THHHPPPPP

I am fortunate and thankful. I want to lead with this because even though I am about to complain, I do know that I am in much better shape (as a person, not physically) than 80% of the people out there. ha ha. Maybe 80 is a bit large... maybe not....

The day started off as a new adventure... I ate a vegetarian style lunch; which made me sick. I then went to work where I found out that I would be closing with every single manager and sidekick manager that irks me. After a tough day at work, with lots of heavy lifting, I leave excited about getting home and going to sleep.

Right when I was about to enter the Highway I hear an odd beat in the music of a familiar song. What is that new beat? OH! Its a flat tire.

I was surprised at how fast I managed to change the flat and get back on the road, but because I didn't want to chance anything on the spare I took the back ways home at reduced speeds so I ended up rolling in about 1230 last night...

No rest for the weary.
